Run support queues with a calm, limited flow

Kanban boards with WIP limits, an Expedite lane for incidents, and service-level targets your team can see every day.

Who it's for

Support, operations and platform teams handling a continuous flow of requests and incidents.

  • Multiple boards per project (Incidents, Requests, Ops)
  • Hard WIP limits per column
  • Expedite class of service pinned to the top
  • Lead and cycle time expectations on the board

How it works in Taskmei

  1. Create boards per queue

Set up separate boards, for example Incidents and Service Requests, inside one Kanban project.

  2. Set WIP limits

Limit each column so the team finishes work before starting more.

  3. Add classes of service

Create an Expedite class that bypasses WIP limits and is pinned to the top for genuine emergencies.

  4. Agree service levels

Record target lead and cycle times and the Definition of Ready and Done for each board.

Are WIP limits enforced?

Yes. When a column reaches its limit, cards cannot be moved into it, unless they belong to a class of service that bypasses the limit.

Do Kanban projects need sprints?

No. Kanban projects use continuous flow. Choose Hybrid if you also want sprints.

What happens to finished tickets?

Archive done cards one by one or all at once; shipped work stays searchable in the archive.
